Hey Fark Board - I'm not the most frequent visitor of this board but I do know one thing, you guys make GREAT end results on a lot of the stuff that floats around here

I'm working on a little task and I just need some direction or advice and I'd figure this would be the spot. Basically what I got going on is I was volunteered to help make a poster for the upcoming color run. I'm worried that the photo I'm using won't be high res enough when I expand it to 24x36 and will be pixelated and blurry.

Is there a way around this? Or maybe another picture.. the biggest problem is they don't want to have other people in the photo. Most images on google of course are nothing but people doing the run.

here is the image I'm using:

It doesn't have to have words or design on it, the lead project lady wants to customize it

The process is called Fractal Interpolation which essentially allows you to increase the size of the photo without altering the pixels all that much. It basically compensates for enlarging the photo.

The newer Photoshops have that feature, but I'm on my work computer and my PS is from the dinosaur ages so I can't help ya sorry.

Well it's not the biggest rush or anything and I'm not asking you to do it all for me. Personally I would like to learn it myself. Would you be free to maybe walk it over with me later tonight? I have all sorts of voice comms I use. Skype, Teamspeak, Ventrilo, Curse, Mumble.

It needs to be done by friday and I'm not all that busy at work so I'm going to dig into this afternoon when I get back from lunch.

Idle I appreciate the help

this may not be too bad, I made it 24x36 and it was ok. This one has a lot of people pieces in that were rudimentary removed. need some cleanup. it would be better to get an image at 300 dpi min (600 dpi is usually for magazines)to blow up. this was showing 170 @ 3x5.5. I would search for a better image if available. one idea is turn down the opacity and use as a background, this will show less of the fuzziness.

This is what i'm getting at brother - I don't know much about this type of stuff. I'm willing to learn tonight if anybody would like to do a run through with me.
