Anyone got a really good grasp of how to make text into ice?

I've got a side project for my boss and I'm having trouble getting it to look how I want.

I feel that I'm like 90%+ the way there, but for some reason I can't bring it home.

I've scoured the interwebs to find tutorials and walk throughs... No luck.

TIA for any assistance..!

(I work for a Fortune 500 and can't be wantonly posting it on the board)

Don't know exactly what you've got in mind for a finished
product, but take a look at this and let me know if this is
close.

I did this for a friend of mine about four years ago. It
was the name of his band that he had just put together.

This is *sort of* what I'm looking for... More realistic, semi-transparent, cracked/cracking, etc...

You can use a pattern overlay, like this. I added some slight bevel/emboss to highlight the text edges.

I'm looking for something like this that I can put the "text ice cubes" into a glass of water and have a *realistic* "ice cubes in water" effect...

For instance, can anyone make this glass look full of water with 'custom ice'..?

Say... the words "Ice Water" made of 'ice', to look like it's the "ice" helping the glass look full?

You could also buy this place the letters in a glass and photograph the real thing. You would probably need to set up a little photo booth for it.
