I use GIMP 2.6 its free. That was just a simple two layer gif. and save as animation.

I use photoshop for all my stuff. I've tried GIMP but I was so used to photoshop I just gave up.

Photoshop is much better. I have never used it but the design groups and such use Photoshop for a reason. I learned most from watching Youtube GIMP tutorials and watching and reading posts form experienced users on this board.

Try tweaking the logo a little bit, something not really noticeable. Maybe even flipping the head the other way. That way you would be able to use it.

Legally, no. Copyright infringment. But it will specifically depend on your printer.
