I hadn't noticed it until you posted that question. Yes it would appear that the butthurt runs deep with some Gumps regarding Prothro. Well, as Sgt. Hulka said to his young recruit "Lighten up Francis"....that is what some of these "board up their arse" Gumps need to do.

It should be a requirement for the Fark Board that to truly be accepted as Farker you have to make at least three farks involving your own team. People that know their team and their own fans the best would make some of the best farks we have seen.

I doubt the fans are upset simply because it is a Bama fark. It is Prothro pic that is getting the attention.
To say "lighten up" or " oh they have no sense of humor" is misguided imo. Everyone draws a line somewhere when it comes to humor or any acceptable behavior. Usually the line is a little closer when the subject holds special interest.
I do some farks from time to time and would never consider doing anything that involved serious injury or death. Have done plenty mocking my own team though. Seen the Saban fark involving the paralyzed player a few days back, had same reaction.
