Goal is to finish them tonight. The write-ups are easy, but it is hard to differentiate between some teams in the rankings.

You can do it in tiers and place a team in tier 1-2-3-4. I would have a heck of a time ranking that many teams.

My preseason rankings: Did this late at night and rather quickly, so bear with me as it is written horribly.

Disclaimer: I did not include my own team in the rankings.

1. Florida Tigah: I really like this team. Love the speed guys that he purchased because they also have power (Starling Marte Jason Kipnis). Then you have pure power guys in Jay Bruce, Brian McCann, Anthony Rizzo and Wil Myers. Really good solid group.

Also like what FT did in the pitching department. Got three closers (Sergio Romo, Fernando Rodney and Huston Street) to go along with two really good starters in Chris Sale and Hyun Jin-Ryu. I like the upside potential of Danny Salazar and what Matt Garza could potentially provide.

Best buy: Jason Kipnis $30
Worst buy: Neftali Feliz $5

2. Swamie: With Mike Trout and Chris Davis anchoring the hitters and supporters in other categories (Pedro Alvarez for HRs and Jean Segura for SBs) Swamie should finish towards the top in all of them. He also has a couple of high upside guys for the price he got them at in Nelson Cruz and Khris Davis.

Solid staff built around Felix Hernandez. Hisashi Iwakuma was a decent bargain, not great, but decent. I think he needs Zach Wheeler to pan out for this staff to be one of the leagues elite.

Best buy: Chris Davis $47
Worst buy: Jean Segura $18

3. Nyjer Please: Tony Plush features the BHiB (Miguel Cabrera), and good compliments with Billy Butler, Carlos Beltran, Allen Craig and Alex Rios. Bur he lacks speed, except for Rios. Nyjer can’t afford for Rios to have one of his notorious “down seasons” as it will completely cripple his speed.

A terrific staff. Nyjer found plenty of values. Only one closer, but not that concerning. One of the best.

Best buy: Cole Hamels $12
Worst buy: Jayson Werth $15

4. Zephyrius: The bats are solid. Jose Bautista, Mike Napoli and Adrian Beltre provide the power, while he has two base-stealing middle infielders (Everth Cabrera and Jose Altuve). Yasiel Puig and Curtis Granderson are the wild cards. Personally, I don’t feel Puig is worth the money that was spent, but he could certainly outperform that number ($31). And, of course, Granderson moving away from the short right field porch in Yankee Stadium to Citi Field.

He’s going to break camp with four closers (Ernesto Frieri, Joakim Soria, Trevor Rosenthal and Koji Uehara). Going to provide nice trade chips for him down the road. Additionally, he has three really good starters (Max Scherzer, Adam Wainwright and Andrew Casher) to balance out the staff. I think this is one of the best, if not the best staff in the league.

Best buy: Andrew Cashner $10
Worst buy: Everth Cabrera $11

5. VKC: Joey Votto, Buster Posey, Edwin Encarnacion and Matt Holliday will provide the pop. I’m not real sure where the speed will come from; Rajai Davis does give a big lift here for him, but I think he should be strictly a platoon player (.594 OPS vs right handers in 2013). VKC needs Brett Gardner to provide a bounce back year in the SB department. I like the young guys, Xander Bogaerts and Christian Yelich, and think they are both safe in terms of what they should provide in the counting numbers.

Three top-of-the-line starters (Clayton Kershaw, Masashiro Tanaka and Madison Bumgarner), this group really jumps out at you. Matt Moore is a terrific No. 4 starter, but the rest of the staff has some major question marks. Michael Pineda is much more likely to bust than boom to me. Jonathan Niese is nursing an injury, and not a single Opening Day closer on the roster.

Best buy: Matt Holliday $16
Worst buy: Chase Utley $13

6. Chatagnier: When I view Chat’s team as a whole, I see solid everywhere. I don’t believe he jumps out in any one category (negatively or positively). I like the bats and there’s enough speed there as well. Let’s see how soon Javier Baez gets the call.

The staff is built with the BPiB, so you know I love it already. You have to like Gerrit Cole, Mike Minor and Anibal Sanchez to round out the starters. Also, two high K closers (David Robertson and Jonathan Papelbon)

Best buy: Jose Fernandez $28 (got him for $210 less than what he’s worth)
Worst buy: Ben Zobrist $16

7. Thomas: Hosmer, Longoria, Trumbo and Braun headline the hitting -- nice source of power and run production should be provided from this group. Also, grabbed speed in Andrus and Dee Gordon (but who really knows how long he remains in the platoon). I like the Dexter Fowler and Alejandro De Aza late pickups – they should provide additional counting stats while not hurting him too much in OPS.

Good pitching staff with Yu Darvish headlining the group. Tony Cingrani and Homer Bailey should provide good strikeout ratios for him as well. Steve Cishek and Kenley Jansen are a solid closer duo.

Best buy: Homer Bailey $16
Worst buy: Elvis Andrus $17

8. Honkus: Last season, Honk uncharacteristically spent big money on two players (Carlos Gonzalez and Jose Bautista). This year, he focused on finding the bargain and he got some goodies. Kyle Seager, Yoenis Cespedes and Hunter Pence all went for prices below than what I believe they should have. However, I wonder where the $30+ home run potential will come from?

The pitching looks formidable with Julio Teheran and Jeff Samardzija being two guys I really like. I also like Jered Weaver, who I feel is underrated because of the lack of K’s.

Best buy: Kyle Seager $16
Worst buy: Starlin Castro $15

9. TChamp: Champ purchased a few guys that had some question marks in terms of games played for various reasons coming in (Matt Kemp, Kendrys Morales, Albert Pujols and Manny Machado). Then he receives the disappointing news of Jurickson Profar’s injury. Healthy, it is a good hitting squad, but a lot of uncertainty surrounds his everyday players.

He has three above average starters to pair with Craig Kimbrel and Rafael Soriano. Not a huge fan of the rest of the staff, but if Buckholz can pitch anywhere close to what he did in his brief 2013, then it has potential.

Best buy: Hanley Ramirez $38
Worst buy: Rafael Soriano $12

10. Prison Mike: He targeted star players and got them. Troy Tulowitzki, Paul Goldschmidt and Bryce Harper are as formidable of a trio, when healthy, as there is. The problem I have is with the second tier of players. Brandon Phillips will score runs and provide some pop, but he’s not a big OBS guy and he doesn’t steal bases anymore. He’s also going to see a major decline in RBIs moving from cleanup to the 2-hole. Alex Gordon is a steady player and Josh Donaldson looks to be the real deal – he’ll need these two to help in the RBI category, IMO.

Mike has some decent arms, but nothing that he can hang his hat on as of right now.

Best buy: Sonny Gray $8
Worst buy: Brandon Phillips $15

11. Papz: As Papz always does, he spent most of his money on hitting - $218 to be exact. Only, I don’t like most of the guys he bought. $100 spent on Josh Hamilton, Jose Reyes, Ian Kinsler and Carlos Gomez. Then you have Giancarlo Stanton for $35 and Billy Hamilton for $21. I feel like the only guys he can definitively count on are Adrian Gonzalez and Martin Prado. Lots of risk, but if a couple of those guys can stay healthy and regain previous elite production, his team could be in contention late.

Papz nailed down three closers to help offset his weak starters. Yovani Gallardo and Jon Lester certainly have proven track records, but also question marks. Scott Kazmir and Cory Kluber as No. 3 and 4 and starters doesn’t provide a warm, comforting feeling.

Best buy: Adrian Gonzalez $23
Worst buy: Jose Reyes $27

12. Whitie’s Supremacists: Another owner that focused his funds around his hitting. Andrew McCutchen, David Ortiz, Carlos Santana, Ian Desmond, Jacoby Ellsbury, Jayson Heward … It’s a pretty every day lineup to look at.

The worst pitching staff in the league, IMO. There is not one guy on the staff that I would feel confident in when on the mound.

Best buy: David Ortiz $25
Worst buy: Brett Lawrie $9

13. House of Cards: Just not a very good team, in my mind. Who is the offensive leader? Matt Adams does provide some potential, but if he can’t hit left-handers and is quickly replaced with Oscar Taveras, where would HOC turn to for power? I’ll go out on a limb, and I’ll probably look like an arse at the end of the year, but I’ll say this team finishes last in OPS.

The pitching is pretty solid. Matt Latos, Michael Wacha, Jordan Zimmerman and Shelby Miller headline a strong staff. Another team that features two closers, which should help.

Best buy: Michael Wacha $11
Worst buy: Desmond Jennings $16

I really regret Reyes. That was just an impulsive buy. A staff ace would have made a world of difference due to not having daily pickups for streaming QS and Ks.

He was ranked preseason number 1 and finished middle of the pack. I rank him a little lower than mwg did because it reminds a lot of last year's team.

Also, I fell asleep working on my rankings last night. Will try to put them out today.

He was. There were 14 teams last year. Pretty sure you were 13th.

I saw your trade offer papz. Considering, but man, I do not want Reyes.

Well, that is depressing. Lol. I hated that redraft and losing Chris Davis. That sucked. I know my OF is weak, but I'm ok with the infield, though I feel like I could do better trading either carpenter or Pedroia for someone who needs 2B help. I like my pitching staff and three closers, but will definitely have to stay active. I'm still learning this, OPS is new to me, I play in a BA league. Hope someone breaks out.
