It's possible they let him try to build his confidence up and return him to the closer roll should Henderson falter, like they did last year with him and K Rod.
As someone who's watched all of his outings so far, he's lost it. 2011 isn't coming back. I talked to Reid Brignac's brother a couple of days ago and he said they all said they were just sitting fastball in Colorado. They knew he couldn't locate his off speed pitches and teed off on his fastball.
