Yeah, my closer situation sucks as well. One guy on a bad team, and two guys who are in setup roles.

Yeah, I just never place a premium on guys who basically only give you one category. Overvalued, IMO.

I agree with that. It amazes me the price people will pay to acquire a top closer. Especially in my other league.

You can find high K/9 guys from middle relief pitchers as well though.

Exactly. And with a 30 innings limit, relievers aren't going to affect whip, k/9, and era nearly as much as starters will. Probably only around 25% or so.

True but the set up guys are just 3 cat contributors. A great closer like a CK, is a 4 cat stud in our league.

More like a 1 category stud that provides a little value(better than most closers) in the other 3 categories.
He is only pitching 3 innings a week while starters are pitching 6 or 7 and sometimes 12 or 13.
So say you start 6 guys with an average of 6 IP, and 3 closers with an average of 3.5 IP, closers are only providing 23% in those categories.
Why would someone overpay for someone that is going to provide 25% of a week's numbers in 3 categories? Doesn't make sense to me.
