Why do we give bonus points for long fgs? It's like giving bonuses for long plays which is dumb

I'm indifferent toward long FG, but -4 for a missed extra point is crazy. -1 at most.

Yeah, missed FGs can be from blocked kicks, which shouldn't necessarily reflect on the kicker.

I'm cool with -1, but give the extra +1 bonus for the 50+ yard FGs.
Kicking 50 yarders isn't easy, and getting -1 for attempting it should be offset by getting +1 for making it.

Touchdown passes and runs of 50 yards aren't easy. But you don't get extra points.
And yes, you can't bring up issues in a TDxx league without being a contrarian

Exactly. So I see no problem with giving PKs a bonus point.
In fact, I wish we gave them more. They get so little in regards to points scored that they will not be a factor in draft strategy. Everyone will be drafting them in the 12th round or later.

Unless you reward points for kickers based on every 10 yards (ie 2 points for 20 yarders, 3 for 30 yarder 4 for 40 yarder etc) then your point doesn't stand.
By only rewarding 50 yarders, you are rewarding a "big play", which isn't in tune with everything else.

i don't care what the scoring ends up being. doesnt change the fact that some of yous don't like people who discuss/challenge things
