Havent really given it much thought

Maybe something like no draft pick trading. Picks are treated like gold by some, netting huge hauls. In reality they aren't really valuable as essentially they are a 13th rd pick

Someone is going to tell me, well, "it's their picks and team they can do what they want!". Then I'd tell you, from a competition standpoint down the stretch, the guy getting 2 All Stars for a 3rd RD pick (which is pretty fricking worthless, let's be honest) is coming out way ahead, and it's not really in the spirit of seeing who can build the best team.

Imagine a league built on

1. Having strong keepers
2. Ability to execute trades for players (players valuable to both "sell outs" ie young guys and players valuable to teams trying to compete ie Big Papi last season)
3. Ability to work the free agent pool for breakouts, prospects etc.
4. Simply managing day to day lineup decisions

Imagine eliminating the tainting of the competition by not trading draft picks that arent worth shite.

I'll hang up and listen

I was being facetious, as this has been discussed for several years with no action. All of our original, active owners have done bounced from this league bc it's antiquated and frankly unbalanced.

Yes, we do. But sometimes you have to protect them from themselves if they dont see it.

Some of our older members have become apathetic, it seems. But you got some excited, young talent coming up w tubby and thomas who are at least interested and played wire to wire last year. A few others will play wire to wire. So I think this league can be revived. If no one else thinks so, that's cool too. Just trying to make it better

I gave a first for Edwin Diaz, so that kinda flies in the face of what you're saying. Which trades did you not like?

Which reminds me.. Britton is OTB for anyone in the market for a top 3 closer

Well Honk, you are a good owner. Some people just start straight from the get go

without looking, charlie blackmon/ortiz (10th and 11th best hitters, respectively) for a 1, jose abreu (off year but still a 25/100 guy and a bonafide keeper in this league) for a 3

I wouldnt have made those trades but nobody here is colluding. Im firmly in the "its JewTs $100/team to manage" camp. Yes he could have gotten more.

His keepers are pretty rough but he certainly has the picks to start a rebuild if he goes about it the right way.

And good on thomas and boo for pulling off those deals.

I'm not saying it's colluding

No dude

That's part of the problem. Bc the majority of owners wouldn't even think that's something in the realm of possibility of becoming a trade because it grossly comprises the integrity of the league. I don't think anyone should be praised for that

Now you as a level headed, competitive driven owner has to go out and play the already good team that just added Blackmon and Ortiz for nothing. Nope nope nope

If it isn't an issue to anyone that's fine, I love the dynasty league. Just wanted to attempt to make a change to stay around here and compete

I'm more for staying out of other peoples business unless its obvious they are doing something to obviously disrupt the league, which only one of us here has done.

Some people value things differently than others. I've always said draft picks are meaningless in this league but i'll still have others argue with me. To each their own.

The "problem" is not with the rules it's with what you think other owners should value

I'll bite.

I think the back end (at least the back half or so) of the draft is pretty meaningless, but you can build a good team in the top half if you have a decent set of keepers. Especially those first 3-4 rounds there is still plenty of talent and a lot of guys that can turn 12 good keepers into a playoff squad.

Second half, it's a total crapshoot... there will be the occasional gem, prospect that pans out, or setup man that gets a closing job, but it's mostly roster filler that will be dumped before we turn to June.
