According to the Cincinnati Enquirer, Reds pitcher Aroldis Chapman is set to begin his transition from the bullpen to starting rotation when he goes to the Instructional League this fall. After he builds up his pitch count he'll go to Puerto Rico to pitch in winter ball. “We’re finalizing plans right now,” Reds general manager Walt Jocketty said. “He’ll gradually build up his innings. He’ll pitch two or three innings to start. Eventually, we’ll get him up to five innings.” The plan is to have Chapman pitch in winter ball for a month and then let him rest up for spring training.

Is Mesraco going to be the starting catcher next year? I really need him to get the call for good in my roto league.

Dusty likes to give catchers a lot of rest, but it appears like Mesoraco is in line to get more starts than Hanigan. Probably wont know for sure until the spring though.

I plan on keeping Mesoraco in this league unless it looks like Hanigan is gonna get a 50-50 split of the duties.

That's why I never touched him - it was obvious by the way that he ran that this was going to happen.
