additionally, if clams still feels like he doesn't like wiggins after this season of growth, I'll be more than happy to trade Monroe and Gay back to him at the end of the season. I don't think either of them are long term keepers.

i just said we'll see?
I kind of don't understand the argument.
I've picked many players before they made the leap based on a number of statistical indicators. I picked all of these players before you knew they were good. you think they were coincidence? I said I watch preseason games and was ridiculed. you think it was by accident I got porzingis?
or had Drummond before he blew up? or Giannis? or Durant? I acquired each of these players before they were great.
I think Wiggins will be great. anybody who's like to bet on it is welcome.

Maybe we just have different definitions of great. Only one of these dudes (Durant) is a top 25 fantasy player. And he's been one since his rookie year. So you traded for him while he was avg 20 pts with 1 blk, stl, 3 and predicted he'd be great?
I bet every owner in this league has been able to predict and acquire at least one top 25 player before they were "great".
Wiggins is not Durant, so stop the comparison. Durant at 19 shite on Wiggins at 19. Then Durant made a leap at 20 became top 5 at 21. Wiggins has actually gotten worse. as a fantasy player, from 19 to 20.

I don't think it was an accident. ...but it was super fricking late and there was nothing left but to take flyers on top 5 selected rookies
I was 100% gonna take him with my next pick.
Eta: you talking down to us like you are some nba scout and we have never watched a game before isn't a good way to win an argument....its a good way to be called a fgt

that's not the order of operations here. I got made fun of for saying I watched preseason games. yet those games is what made me take porzingis. I got made fun of by you specifically for picking Drummond and keeping him. I'm not talking like I'm an nba scout. merely justifying my position.,
I'm just saying my record on betting on undervalued young players is pretty darn good in this league. different owners succeed in different ways. Andy generally makes a ton of trades. Ian always grabs value over upside like the years in s row he grabbed Pau. and I generally find a youngster every draft who turns out to be better than people expect.
and I'm saying Wiggins will be great at fantasy next year. he does the things you can not teach incredibly well. the things he does not do well can easily be taught. we ll see if it happens or not.
and don't get caught up in revisionist history. I caught Durant at the end of his rookie year. paid a devils ransom for him (I think it was pau gasol or dirk and Rudy gay for him) and then kept him for the next two or three pre-leap. it's like buying/selling stocks.
I'm not always right. so let's stop fussing and make a bet.
wiggins will be top 25 in fantasy next year. his age 21 season. twenty bucks. takers?

-his coach died and was replaced by a different coach... who is the worst coach in the league.
-his point guard at the beginning of the season was Zach Levine.
-another high usage player has been introduced into his team mix shifting the amount of counting stats. other statistical indicators are much better like TS % and finishing at the rim and foul rate.
-he's 20. 20. like younger than most juniors in college.

7 Clams - Noah Vonleh
8 Knat - Andrew Bogut
9 Matty - John Henson
10 Rondo - Harrison Barnes
11 Honk - Jerian Grant
12 Karma - Isaiah Canaan
I had to look back, I was thinking you grabbed Porzingis in the 1st or 2nd by the way you're talking. You grabbed him in the 7th amidst waiver fodder players
Posted on 1/17/16 at 12:42 pm to GynoSandberg
was waiting for him buddy. knew everyone was sleeping on him. he was my rookie this year based on watching him in summer league and preseason. it wouldn't have been good value to take him high. apparently according to E I almost waited too long.

All these great calls on players and you never finished higher than 6th place before last year. How is that even possible? Doesn't sound like you leave any good players for the rest of us.

what? my overall tdbbl wins/losses record is like 2nd or 3rd behind nobes and maybe you in your short time (since you've joined the league). i'm the mark cuban always the bridesmaid never the bride who finally won his title.
i've been in the finals twice, won once. and made the playoffs every year except the first year and the year i decided to rebuild before the championship. those years coming in 5th or 6th and not quite having the guns to recover after competing the year before against these reboot/rebuild teams is what spurred my tank season where i said, i'd rebuild and win the next year because i thought the rules promoted doing that. i did, yet we kept the rules the same and here we are again. boom bust cycles.
i'd also add that my TDBBL finals loss was to Ronnie Mexico who sold out so hard to win the championship he didn't even return to play the next year.
don't see why this is still about me.
i've offered a bet i'm happy to make. if you feel like i'm really wrong about wiggins. make the bet. otherwise stop grandstanding

i see that non-issue that was squashed friday night is still a hot topic.
I like how half the leagues been bitching about pick trades and selling out.. Now you make some moves without using picks and they still call you out.
Can't please some folks I suppose.
ETA: nice job trading keif twice too...

this is the stuff that makes the league fun!
i got skin in the game. i wouldn't serve my boy drunken clams wrong and i'm willing to bet a fifth of an entry fee, the price of one of clam's keeper spots.
20 bucks. wiggins is top 25 player rater at the end of next season.
prolonged injury is a no-bet.
funny thing is that isn't it still clear that wiggins is a better keeper than gay or monroe?
i'd have thought people would be madder about that than wiggins

I will bet you. And I even like Wiggins. Your justifications are ridiculous, though. Listen to yourself
You pulled off a trade that benefits you greatly. Just own it and drop the strawman justifications
quote:
Wiggins is a top flight ultra keeper going forward.

when Wiggins goes Durant next season this ll be just fine.
quote:
bazemore isn't even owned but in only 75% of leagues.
quote:
he got Morris whose value rockets the second he gets traded and clams will be able to trade him pre our trade deadline.
quote:
worst case scenario he's Carmelo light
quote:
rumor has it morris is being traded TOMORROW. this game against the celtics was the last one
quote:
also, bazemore has core 7, 9, and 9 his last 3 games.
quote:
look at my boy giannis. year 3. 29-15 and 3 tonight.
quote:
just like I said peeps were wrong about Drummond and Giannis all the way back to Durant in this league.

it justifies me this year of course. there s nothing not to own. why else would I make the trade?
what I won't drop is the idea that Wiggins isn't amazing going forward. traded ibaka for him and I LOVE ibaka.
so then we started debating Wiggins which is fun.
and now I'm launching a bet. if Wiggins is top 25 next year at the ripe old age of 21, he is indeed an ultra keeper. and clams has gotten good nay great value on this trade.
if Wiggins is not, then Clams is getting the short side of the stick. I'm willing to bet that Wiggins makes the leap.
any takers?

There are too many good players who do more than score for him to crack top 25
I will bet you. He has to play 65 games

And there are like 5 guys in my roster that aren't owned in 75% of leagues
