Salmons heading to Milwaukee
9:05
PM ETJohn Salmons | Bulls Top Email UPDATE: Salmons is indeed heading to the Bucks for Thomas and Elson, reports ESPN's Chad Ford.

With Michael Redd out for the season, Salmons can come in and help out at shooting guard. For the Bulls both Thomas' and Elson's contracts are expiring, which means the Bulls would save some more cap space to make a solid run at least one, and possibly two, free agents this summer.

--
According to K.C. Johnson of the Chicago Tribune on Twitter, John Salmons could be on the move very soon: "Bulls management has told Salmons to remain at team hotel as it works to finalize a trade. Won't play vs. Knicks."

The Bulls are trying to move Salmons for expiring contracts in an effort to clear cap to make a run at two free agents agents this summer.

We told you earlier today that there's word Salmons may have been included in the Bulls' offer to Rockets for Tracy McGrady, but the Rockets weren't keen on him. It's also believe the Knicks are the frontrunner still in such a deal, as we noted in that same post. And with more players on the Bulls being included in such a deal, one would assume they would have been held out of tonight's game as well.

Salmons value just went up.

Karma - Mo's coming back sooner than March:

quote:

Mo Williams, PG CLE
News: Leon Powe is close to returning to the Cavaliers and Mo Williams isn't far behind, meaning reinforcements are on the way even if Cleveland doesn't make a trade before Thursday's deadline. Powe has been recovering from summer knee surgery and participated in a full practice Wednesday. He says the training staff will meet before Thursday's game against Denver to decide whether he can play. Williams may need longer, tweeting that he was a little rusty at practice due to his shoulder injury and will need another few days.
Analysis: This would be great news if Williams can get back on the court before March. He was originally injured Jan. 21 and was expected to miss 4-6 weeks, so hopefully he could be close to 100 percent sooner rather than later. Williams is averaging 16.9 points and 5.1 assists for the season.
