20th works for me, any way to do it at 7 instead of 6 though? Auction drafts usually go quick, less than 2 hours or so.


And EZ, try a mock draft in the ESPN lobby. Time limits aren't really a factor in Auction. Basically once a player is put up for bid, it will go until bidding stops. Once a bid is made there is like a 10 second clock I think, but usually the bids go in rapid fire until it reaches a high enough point that you only have maybe 2 or 3 guys seeing how high the other is willing to go.

It honestly moves very quickly, which is why doing a few mocks will be a big help for you, just to get used to the pace.

The "draft order" in Auction is the order in which teams get to nominate a player to bid on. So the #1 pick basically just picks any player they want, which everyone then gets to bid on. Each team usually has a short clock to nominate their player, maybe 30 seconds or so then it just goes to highest ranked player left.

So the pick order isn't really a big deal, although there is a bit of strategy involved in who you nominate and when, like nominating a player you may not really want hoping that other teams spend their money on them so that they have less budget for the players you really want.

All of that is pretty marginal though.

It's just an awesome draft method to have a legit shot at ant player you want. Get "pick 12" but really want Julio? No worries, you can get him just as easily as anyone else can. Just need to be willing to spend and then budget the rest of your roster.

It is awesome and easily the best and most fair way to draft.


Hopefully some others on the board read this and decide to give it a shot. It's the only way to draft

I've done Auction several times, but they were always in person. There was always some a-hole trying to up the bids at the absolute last second, which made things hilarious, but I figured online that may be minimized.

Either way, looking forward to it. Haven't done auction in years.
