Guys I am in a very competitive 14 team league and I really went against the grain as far as the draft went. I had the 13th (and 16th) pick and when it got to me I drafted Verlander and Kershaw 1,2. I knew at that point I was going to have to win with pitching (5x5 H2H League) and try to win 2 or 3 categories every week on the offensive side.

I have (We have a Max 8 starts per week)
Verlander
Kershaw
Cain
Darvish
Dickey
Capuano

I am currently in first place with the current lineup.
I have dumped HR and RBI categories and lead the league in SB's, Top 5 in Average and Runs.

C Pierzynski
1B LaRoche
2B Kipnis
3B Lawrie
SS Gordon
OF M.Cabrera
OF Hart
OF Pierre
UTIL Bonificio

Bench
Berkman
De Aza
J.Weeks

I really love my pitching staff as they dominate atleast 4 categories every week. 1B is obviously my weak spot (Berkman should be back soon) but Votto is an elite hitter and I'm not sure its an offer I can pass up, thoughts?

1B LaRoche
Is playing pretty well right, and is good for 20+ home runs and about a .270 avg on season.....

I would. Put Votto at 1B obviously and when Berkman's back replace Juan Pierre with him.

Is there anybody on the wire you could get to better replace Cain by dropping Dickey?

Id try and trade Darvish instead. Cain is just so steady. Darvish has been great but he may wear down.

With 14 teams it is a little tight, but I just noticed Jason Vargas is still out there even with his stellar start.

Other options are Zambrano, Jerome Williams, Niemann. Decent 5th in the rotation guys.
(We only have 5 SP slots and 5 Bench)

I'd much rather trade Darvish, I'm pretty attached to Cain (He has had a spot on my fantasy team for past 3 seasons). Doesn't seem to be biting on that though.

The guy who has Votto also has Bruce (odd)

whew. 14 teams league is tough.

like I said, I would go after Bruce with a package deal and try to sell high on Darvish like Lester suggested. Cain is so consistent it's tough to lose a sure thing.

Solid advice.

I'm really high on Cain and what he brings to the table, I didn't want to do the deal, but I wanted to get outside opinion because maybe I thought too highly of him.
Obviously others feel the same way I do. Thanks
