I'm the Anthony Richardson owner and i'm assuming he's going to miss at least a month. I can carry him in my IR slot for now, but in the meantime I need to find a replacement.

I can only pick up one of these quarterbacks so obviously i'm not going to pick up Love this week. If I were to pick up Stroud for example, I would have to drop him next week and pick up someone else without a guarantee that I could get Stroud back after the bye. So I probably wouldn't even consider him until Week 9 anyway. I could try my luck and try to play matchups on a weekly basis with $1 bids, but there is no guarantee with that strategy.

Sam Howell doesn't have a bye until Week 14 so I could roll with him for a while before having to worry about bye weeks.

The schedule for Purdy doesn't look bad with the exception of this week @Cle.

Stafford has a pretty good schedule too imo and just got Kupp back.

The only skill position guys I have for any of these teams is Kyren Williams and Christian Watson.

ETA: What would your strategy be in this scenario? Which QB would you pick up? It would also be cool to know what the thought process is behind the decision in case there is something that i'm not even considering at this point.

Sam Howell (21.9 ppg)

W6: @Atl
W7: @NYG
W8: Phi
W9: @NE
W10: @Sea

Jordan Love (22.6 ppg)

W6: Bye
W7: @Den
W8: Min
W9: LAR
W10: @Pit

Brock Purdy (22.8 ppg)

W6: @Cle
W7: @Min
W8: Cin
W9: Bye
W10: @Jax

Matt Stafford (19.5 ppg)

W6: Ari
W7: Pit
W8: @Dal
W9: GB
W10: Bye

CJ Stroud (21.5 ppg)

W6: NO
W7: Bye
W8: @Car
W9: TB
W10: @Cin

Is there a question in there or are you just letting us know?

Guess I never actually asked it.

I would go Purdy. That offense doesn’t seem to be dependent on playing a low tier defense to do well. He also has great weapons at RB, WR, and TE.

Thanks for the response. Yeah, I think that's where i'm leaning. He's looking pretty consistent so far and I think I value his floor at the QB position right now. You could probably also argue that his ceiling from week to week is as high as any of the other guys I mentioned too. I can use him for the next three weeks before his week 9 bye and by then I should have a better idea on Richardson's status.

Anybody else have a differing opinion?

I would go Purdy unless you change your mind about Stroud. Purdy has enough weapons that he'll continue to put up consistent points as long as they stay healthy. Stroud is probably the most-talented guy on the list, but if you feel like you might lose him or Purdy in the next few weeks, then go with Purdy.
