Is it bad I want to win this league more than my big money league?

When I first started this league I thought it was going to be a blast. I invited 11 of my friends to play fantasy football with me an activity I quite enjoyed. That is no longer the case. Over the last 13 weeks or so I have endured a myriad of unforeseen but utterly preventable problems. The list includes: 3 attempted briberies, 2 calls for my resignation, 1 call for my impeachment, 3 separate people questioning my friendship and integrity, countless of you coming to my work to complain about the league, and 1 obvious count of collusion. This all reached a boiling point over this last week when two of our owners contrived a plan in order to improve one team (via a lopsided trade) just so the other owner could get into the trade pool. When I asked the two about the trade they told me that if I did not put the trade through they wanted their money back. As I had not received an complaints from other owners I allowed the trade. After that however I received a slew of complaints from other owners. I am going to reverse this trade, that decision is final. Now before all of you get up in arms I would like to remind you of one very important point. This is just fantasy football. We are playing for $300 which is nothing to sneeze at but come on is it really important enough to cheat out your friends and colleagues? I must be the poorest and youngest of all you and I make that in two days work. You people are all out of your fricking minds. I cannot explain how utterly miserable this year of fantasy football has been. I considered all of you to be friends and people that I cared about but apparently the lure of $300 is too great and nothing like friendship or decency could get in the way. Needless to say this will be my first and last year as your commissioner. I will be withdrawing my name from the trade pool. As the playoffs are starting next week there will be no more trade. I have drawn for the pool and Ike, you win, congratulations. I would also like to use this time to let those of you who care know that I will not be in the golf league next year. I'm sure you're all broken up about this. If anyone has any questions or complaints go ahead and write them on a piece of paper, find a nice envelope, and shove it up your arse. Best of luck in the playoffs.

Happy Thanksgiving,

Alex

So who is who?

quote:

#10. The Know It All

This guy claims to be the most prepared out of everyone on draft day. Hes taken his fantasy research from 10 different sources, created the ultimate mock draft, and has been watching NFL Networks Fantasy Analysis for the past month so you should probably trust him on everything he says. Until you do, and then find out that your whole fantasy team is screwed and underperforming and half of your team in on IR.

#9. Mr. Ridiculous

Theres always that one guy looking for a sweet deal and a come up. Hes that guy proposing to make a trade for Peyton Manning in exchange for Tampa Bays defense and Ryan Tannehill. Obviously, everyone knows just how ridiculous this trade sounds, but hes going to sit and try to sell it to you for as long as possible until you finally consider it.

#8. The Guy Who Took Forever to Make His Pick (Carson )

Draft day can be a pretty stressful day. You have money riding on your fantasy team so you want to make sure you pick the best possible players and formulate a strategy so that you can draft your ideal players. But please, dont be that guy that takes over an hour to make one pick. Indecisiveness is a very bad trait to have and can piss off the entire fantasy league and have your friends and colleagues complaining and nagging the whole time.

#7. The Traitor

In life, the most important thing you can do is surround yourself with people who share the same favorite football team as you. But when fantasy football and money come into play, it can kill the whole friendly vibe. One minute you guys are all cheering on the Chargers and then the next minute your friend is yelling on top of his lungs when Jaamal Charles scores his second rushing touchdown. Traitors can be annoying to watch the game with, but in the world of fantasy football, its ultimately inevitable.

#6. The Auto-Draft Guy

Theres always going to be that one guy in your fantasy league that doesnt know what the hell hes doing. He didnt take the time to formulate a mock draft or even bother to show up to the draft all together. He merely relied on the picking power of Auto-Draft and somehow came away with the best team in the league.

#5. The Psychic (tzimme4 )

Who cares about what all the fantasy analysts say or think? This guy sure as hell doesnt care. Hes going to make sure to follow his gut and hes going to make it a point to rub it in everyones faces when he beats people every week. Hes always trying to be creative and pick up players he feels will end up panning out. Sometimes it works out for him very well and sometimes it hurts his fantasy chances all together.

#4. The Vet

This guy knows exactly what hes doing. Hes the guy that has been in this league for years, has won the Championship 4 times and has cashed out big every time. Everyone sees him as their biggest competition and some look up to him as the fantasy guru. He may be cocky at times, but hes never out of his element and knows exactly how to get the job done week in and week out.

#3. The Fantasy Doctor

Injuries can debilitate an entire fantasy team and ruin a persons chances of ever winning their league. Its extremely important that everyone is aware of players who are placed on IR and if players are projected to play or not. However, theres always that guy that thinks hes a fantasy doctor and knows exactly who should be drafted and who should be avoided due to them always being prone to injury. Hell pull up statistics out of nowhere to try to convince everyone not to draft him, and later on hell swoop on the player himself.

#2. The Lazy Coach

This guy doesnt pay attention to anything that goes on within the league or his fantasy team. He screws himself over week in and week out and is constantly going into each week without updating his roster or personnel. Hes always looking for an easy way out or for someone to help him with his picks and help manage his team because he doesnt have the knowledge or will to learn how to do it himself.

#1. The Trash Talker

Trash Talking is part of any sport yes some people actually consider fantasy football a sport. Theres always that one guy in your league who is constantly talking trash in the office, outside of the office, and especially on the fantasy discussion boards. He will take shots at your mom, children, and even try to target your own self worth and self esteem. He will stop at no ends to try and make you feel like the weakest link in the league.

I'm the "traded my stud away too early" guy. Although it wouldn't have made a difference.

It did to others.

If you don't trade Forte to BB3, I'd be top scoring team in the league.

If Foster was healthy every game, he would have given the RB title a run. Only a difference of 60 points. You add in PT23s 90 points, I actually came out ahead on that deal.
