Giants coach Tom Coughlin was critical of David Wilson's pass blocking following the preseason opener. Coughlin wants Wilson to body up blitzing defenders instead of diving at their knees. "He has to learn that you don't cut people at the feet of the quarterback, that's not going to accomplish anything," said Coughlin.

ESPN Rams blogger Nick Wagoner considers Daryl Richardson "the leader in the clubhouse" for St. Louis' starting tailback job.
Isaiah Pead is No. 2 on the depth chart, although he hurt his cause with a lost fumble in St. Louis' preseason opener. Richardson meanwhile racked up 44 yards on six touches against Cleveland, and has been a steadier performer.

I like Spiller and Jackson this year. One of those rare occasions where both guys have value. Not ready to crown spiller a top 5 guy yet but it wouldn't surprise me.

Has anyone had an eye on Julius Thomas as a deep sleeper TE?

Dressen is hurt, Tamme has been solid in the past but has been banged up early in training camp. This Thomas kid just looks like he could be Antonio Gates with Peyton Manning throwing.

It looks like Thomas has been getting more reps and has been impressive. Might take a flyer on him in the late rounds.

Dallas Clark signed to Ravens
quote:

Adam Schefter, from ESPN, reports via Twitter that the Ravens have signed free agent TE Dallas Clark.

The move makes a lot of sense for the Ravens. Clark is not the same player he used to be but the Ravens could use the help at the TE position. TE Ed Dickson (hamstring) is banged up and Dennis Pitta (hip) is out for the year. Clark has experience with OC Jim Caldwell after their time together with the Colts.

According to Adam Teicher of the Kansas City Star, Chiefs running back Jamaal Charles just left the field on a cart after huddling with trainers.

Some reports are saying it didn't look serious. We'll see.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reported on SportsCenter Monday the Chiefs are "privately" concerned about Jamaal Charles' strained foot.
Per Schefter, the Chiefs are "hoping for the best but bracing for the worst." Charles will likely undergo a Monday MRI to determine the full extent. X-rays confirmed Charles avoided a fracture, but a mid-foot sprain could cost him a lot of time. The full damage has yet to be formally revealed.

Packers activated RB DuJuan Harris (knee) from active/PUP.
Although coach Mike McCarthy recently called Harris the Packers' "starter," the reality is Harris is internally viewed as a change-of-pace back and Green Bay wouldn't have used two quality draft picks on running backs if they thought of Harris as a lead runner. Harris is a threat to Johnathan Franklin and John Kuhn's snaps as a situational, passing-down specialist.

twit report from beat reporter, Mike McCarthy keeps putting Harris in front of the pack(no pun)

RB DuJuan Harris was taken off PUP and returned to practice. He took a number of snaps with the No. 1s.

Definitely wasn't what I planned for, but it is what it is. Ended up having to go WR, WR, WR: Calvin Johnson, Dez Bryant, Vincent Jackson.
