Help me understand what some of the clowns in my league are thinking in this regard. 12 team .5 ppr.

My team:(0-3)
Qbs: Jimmy G, Tyrod
Rbs: Chris thompson, James connor, Austin Eckler, Ingram Duke johnson marlon mack
Wrs: Antonio Brown, Stefon Diggs, Fuller, Ridley, Ginn
TE: Engram

His team(2-1)
QBS-Rodgers, Alex smith
RBS-Melvin Gordon, Kareem Hunt, Tevin Coleman, ware, Jamaal williams
WRS- Amari Cooper, Kenny Golladay, Pierre Garcon, kenny stills randall cobb
TE:Ertz Austin Hooper

I offered Stefon Diggs and Calvin Ridley for Kareem Hunt and Alex smith.

CBS trade chart has this even but half the members vetoed it. Tell me where the cheating is?

It's not vetoable. Read any veto thread on this site and you'll see that I and most of this board thinks vetoing trades without clear cheating/collusion is bullshite.

You got screwed by your league here. Sorry man.

You're both addressing needs and there is no reason to veto it. However, I find this leaves you thin at WR and him thin at RB.

You have Ingram coming back in two weeks. All you need is a legit QB. Which QBs are free agents?

Ask the league why it was vetoed. Maybe they were just messing around with you. Dont see any issue with the trade.

Then make the executive decision to change the league format from league veto vote to commish veto vote. That's an awful veto and there's no way it's done for anything other than selfish/petty reasons.

I did they have responded thinking The guy should be getting more because I don't have a qb. Even though I have been very clear I am not offering more than ridley for Alex fricking smith.

This is a bullshite line of thinking. It's between you and the other guy what you think is fair and you obviously both think it is fair.

Look, if it's a league you enjoy with people you like, you don't want to blow up a league for something that's ultimately not a big deal. And even more so you don't want to hurt friendships over something as silly as fantasy football, but you should put your foot down as much as possible and push this trade through. I'd be fricking pissed if my league did something like this.

also, ETA to guess that this thread goes for 12+ pages.

Oh don't worry I am pushing it through regardless.

I am just making sure I am not blinded by my involvement before making that decision.

They're being assholes and abusing the veto function. Would quit the league if it's veto'd. Almost think you would deserve your money back if it's a money league.

What's really ridiculous here is that I would argue that the other guy is getting the better deal here, although it's close. Yet for some reason your league thinks it's vetoable? What a joke.

I had this problem the first couple of years running my league. People were vetoing trades simply because they didn't want to see another team get better. I decided that was not going to happen anymore. I have since changed the format to a commissioner veto vote only. The only problem with that is you shouldn't be allowed to approve a trade that you're involved in. In that scenario I would appoint another person as co-commissioner to step in. Of course you'd want this person to think the same way as you. I actually let the league vote on trades that involve me, but I think I've gotten everyone to change their opinion on trades over the years. I don't think I've had a single veto vote the last 3 or 4 years.

Commissioner veto really is much better than league vote. Allows trades to process more quickly too

Seems like a reasonable trade to me.

Had a similar situation last year with league members vetoing a trade that I was involved in. Yahoo default setting for veto was 1/3 of the league members. So 4 people just wanting to be jackasses kept blocking the trade...anonymously of course. Good friend is league commish and was only his 2nd year running a league, so he didn't know better to change the trade settings from the Yahoo default. Only reason I stayed in the league is because he changed setting for this season to commissioner veto only on trades. Anyone who objects to the trade has to speak up in through the league chat in the Yahoo Fantasy app and the fairness/unfairness of a trade can be debated there. No more anonymous vetoes and the majority of other teams plus commish would have to agree that its a lopsided trade for him to veto it.
