We are having our draft next weekend and one of the guys can't be there in person because he will be on vacation, but he will have access to his laptop and the internet.. everyone else will be there in person for the draft, so what do you think would be the smoothest way to let the absentee be able to draft his own team?? we are using yahoo! for our league FWIW

is there anyway we can draft, and i put the picks in REALTIME, so he can see who's available as we go so i don't have to worry about facetiming or giving him an updated list every time it's his turn to pick?

this guy takes it pretty serious, so he wasn't too keen on having someone else draft his team for him

i'm open to suggestions, what do y'all do in these situations? moving the draft just because of one person isn't an option

Clickydraft.com

You can run a draft board for the party, your absentee can take control of his team and view the same draft board online

You'll have to put the teams in Yahoo manually after the draft

Use clickydraft or sleeper to do your draft. Then go into Yahoo later and input the results.

i'm looking at clickydraft right now... you can broadcast your draft onto a tv? have any of y'all done that before and if so, how do y'all like it?

I think what you suggested is about your only option for yahoo. I would make the draft time for each pick longer since you’ll be drafting live. This way guys won’t get auto picked since they won’t have the computer in front of them. If you can find somebody to put the picks in for you that would be nice because once it gets to your pick your gonna fill kinda rushed since all you been doing is putting picks in and not really looking at the draft.

for clicky draft, can i set it up to where i'm the only one 'online'? i don't want to have to make everyone else worry about drafting on a phone or a laptop (we have some old school type guys in our league who aren't great with technology )

i'd like it to be where everyone drafts in person, offline, and i just enter the picks as they're made so the guy in alabama can see wtf's goin on

sorry if this isn't making any sense

Skype?

I’m going to be remote for our auction draft this year and I’m just going to skype in.

Yeah, clickdraft can be controlled from one computer at your draft party. We usually hook our laptop up to a TV for a larger draft board for everyone

Your guy in Alabama will see the same board, updated in real time and also have control of his team and will make his own picks. He'll have to create a user login for the site, and you will send him a link to the draft so he can log on, join and take control of his team

Fwiw, if you have any custom roster settings it's gonna cost $20 for the premium version

I see that... looks like exactly what i was looking for.. don't think i'll have to go premium, but if i do, then so be it..

its a nightmare trying to get 12 adults to meet up at the same time and same place without hearing anyone bitch about anything

$20 is well worth it... We've tried the skype/speaker phone/ text stuff and it was miserable

Im looking in to sleeper.app right now... anyone used it? Does it work the same way as clicky?

Seems like you can customize draft order and league settings for free

I use Clicky Draft every year. It works great because we usually have 2 or 3 guys that can't make it.

Sleeper doesn't seem to have a commissioner overrule function that will work with a live draft like Cicky does - at least not one that's easy to find and figure out.
