All the non playoff teams enter into a lottery like the NBA draft where worst record gets most chances. Random number generator selects the 8 picks. Then the twist, each person in order gets to select where they draft from the remaining choices, so instead of say 7th you can go 12 and get the 12/13 flip choice. Playoff teams get last 4 choices.

We pull names and then choose your order. So, the player who gets selected first gets to pick their draft position (and so forth).

We do a double blind draft. Names in one hat, draft order in another. Pull a name, pull a number, that's where you draft.

Draw numbers, but the number you pick is your order for picking which draft position you would like. If you pick #1, you may not want the first pick and want the last pick, so chose the 10th position, and so on...
