Has anybody tried this idea for a fantasy football league?

Find a group of 36 (or 30) elite fantasy football players. Divide them into three leagues of 12(or 10) players. The first year every league has the same pay in and pay out (and the same rules). The top 4 in each league gets grouped into the top league which has a the highest pay in and pay out. Then the mid 4 from each league gets grouped in to the mid league which has a medium pay in and pay out. The bottom 4 in each league gets grouped into a league with the lowest pay in and pay out. From then in on starts a system of relegation in which the bottom 4 teams in each league drops to the lower league(except the ones in the lowest league of course) and the top 4 teams ascend into the higher league(except the ones in the top league of course). Thoughts?

I’m in. You commish. Make it 4 12 team leagues. Playoff start at week 12.

I can tell you from experience that it's going to be hard / damn near impossible to keep that league going year after year. People will lose interest. TDFL is 24 teams with 2 conferences that have 2 different player pools and we have some that drop each year. IMO it's the top league on the board, but people lose interest in fantasy or have things come up, and in that style it might be tough to add replacements.
I think it's a great idea though.

I wish they did it by drafting a full roster before the season, re-rating players based on actual performance, and playing the season on Madden.

I’m in a league that has 50 teams of 5 different conferences. $140 buy in. The commish puts in some work though. We do the league through RT sports, more people wanted in the league so he called them and they said the max amount of teams they know their website can serve is 50.
