i ask who were his early picks? Carlos Gomez at 1.17, then Buxton.
Buxton criticism is warranted
Second owner in this league to discredit what Carlos Gomez has produced over the last three seasons.
Someone explain to me why?

Am I the lone lower tier ranked team that you are still writing about?

I think it all stems back to him really being an asshat.

I agree with you MWG. People act like Gomez is Desmond Jennings. The guy could be a 30/40 player. For some reason he doesn't get full credit. I was amazed at how far he fell in the draft.

I hope more owners use that as a criteria.

I think Gomez is a top 10 guy

i had you set in the bottom tier, my bad. I kept looking past your team cause i commented on it this morning. Here are my thoughts.
Hitting: Stanton is an obvious gem, and I love Dickerson too. He's hit at all levels. Id count on a Choo rebound as well. Questions arise after that. Escobar will give you steals, but I dont know if you have the pieces to support a guy that wont hit much other than that. Hosmer...IDK what to make of him. If he can tap his potential, obviously that would be huge to you. I really like your bench pieces, and i feel if you make the right moves, you can shoot up the rankings.
Pitching: Lack of an ace is kind of worrisome, but I think Wheeler has that talent. I like Lynn, he is underrated and a workhorse. Fister is boring but effective. Im not sold on McHugh, i wouldnt be surprised if his ERA tickled 4.00
Future Outlook: Stanton at 25 is maybe the 2nd best guy to own in a dynasty league, imo. DIckerson and Seager are nice younger pieces, and anything you get out of Hosmer will be welcomed. As far as prospects, I like Meyer and Daniel Norris, both should pitch in the MLB this year.

I'm fairly Confident. I'm not overly impressed with the rosters outside of 2. (Just talking 2015)

not discrediting at all. His power is decent when you pair it with his SBs, but he's going to be 30. What's his worth when he stops running? When does he slow down on the bases? He's a big guy, 6'3" 230. His Net SBs have gone from 29, to 33, down to 22 last year.
Id be different if he was 24 and coming into his prime.
I owned him a long time ago when he was with the Twins, there is also just something in me that I dont fully trust. Not sure what it is. He's kind of a guy that is a nice complimentary piece, but i realize its a 20 team league and it's a different ball game.

Marle,
Has Giraffe ever not been your #1 guy in a write-up?

General asshattery.

Just turned 29
I believe he's got a solid three seasons left of top-20 level 20 homers, 30 homers.
That puts him at 31, so heading into his age-32 year we'll see. That's the reason for the Buxton pick.
I would need a catalyst, and hopefully by then Buxton is ready to assume the 20-40 role that Gomez is exiting out of.

I would've taken Gomez at 18
That said, he does have an abnormally high babip which will eventually regress. He still swings and misses a lot. And he has benefitted from getting a ton of counting starts as a result of hitting leadoff. Can't hold that against him obviously, but he may bat middle of the order?
I can see the skepticism with Gomez, but his numbers are always there. Doesn't have to be pretty arriving at those totals

I'm sure his speed has a lot to do with his BABIP.

I think people forget the dude was BIG-TIME prospect coming up with the Mets.

Maybe, but he hasn't always been a high BABIP guy. Its just the last two years that have been absurd.
Since going to Milwaukee:
2010 .313
2011 .273
2012 .296
2013 .344
2014 .339

Has his contact % risen along with those numbers? Or is he hitting for ground balls? Let me look.
