You're kidding yourself if you don't think this would happen either way. If the NCAA wants to bust you, they'll bust you. This isn't Schrodinger's cat.

So just deliberately disobey the governing body for the sake of one season?

I want Wade to coach too, Swam. But he got caught. He’s going down.

Smart, however, can deny deny deny. I’d play him.

Why create a situation when there wasn’t one?

No reason to suspend Wade at that point.

This ain’t the end of it either; there are many more basketball programs on these tapes.

This could also apply currently.

There's no tangible proof of wrongdoing. The NCAA isn't even investigating at this point.

They will of course, and yeah, this won't be the end of it for LSU and for many many more teams.

They are

That’s why LSU isn’t allowing Smart to play at the moment. Which I agree is dumb from LSU’s side.

At this point I think there's little to no chance that Will Wade coaches again for LSU, and I think Joe should go down with him. Clean the whole house. Fire Mainieri while you're at it just because he sucks.

I don’t know Lou

Maineiri’s team next year is going to be pretty fricking good. I definitely think better than this team.

Henry
Hill
Marceaux

I think those first two are Friday-night caliber guys.

Hilliard
Fontenot
Peterson (maybe)

Crossing my fingers on Reece Hinds and Mo Hampton.

once they realize this should be the weekend rotation this year, things could take off

Cole Henry is a monster

He looks like Garrett Richards with that heavy fastball. Think he got 7 ground ball outs in four innings last outing.

We'll just have to look back in hindsight on what the right move is.

Zona didn't suspend Miller, just removed him for one game and they didn't sit their player.

TBD on when Wade comes back but if this does draw penalties, we'll see if the two universities get equal treatment despite taking different approaches to the situation.

I hate sitting Smart

I just hope it's not more than Smart. If they got Williams and Naz (although he came for his girlfriend) too it could get ugly.

Wade wouldnt even meet with LSU about it. That tells you he knows he is fricked, and they all must find a way to find a loophole with all this.

He's under subpoena. No lawyer in his right mind would allow their client to discuss anything under that circumstance. If he did, he'd subject anyone he discussed it with to being called to testify as well. That's my understanding at least.

The reasoning given by LSU is B.S. They're just circling the wagons before it's necessary.

That's fine. LSU still needs to look out for their best interest.

But that's not the rationale you used. You suggested that he should have been suspended for not having a pow wow with the LSU athletic admins, because it admits guilt. LSU is going the vaginal rout on this one. Letting guys like Dicky V and ESPN dictate your actions is right out of the same playbook that lead to pulling the plug on the Jimbo hire. The press tugs LSU around by the go nads.

It does admit guilt too. Wade could make a statement about it, but he hasn't. In fact he said he understood LSU's position.

Never once proclaimed his innocence. Never once explained that he hasn't spoken to LSU because of subpoenas. Never once said Joe Alleva is trying to do him dirty.

Again. His lawyers have told him to STFU. What good would a press release do? Just because you don't grab the nearest microphone and start running your mouth doesn't mean you're guilty. And I happen to believe that he is guilty. But that's not because he's quiet. You don't speak up because of perception or because it makes you feel better. You do what your lawyers tell you to do, because it's the smartest thing to do.

that's fine, then you dont get to coach. Because you know what, this directly affects LSU just as much as it does their court case.

I think he is guilty too and not because he is quiet. But i do know if he were innocent there would be push back from his camp. But what can you really do when you are on an FBI wire tap?

They’re all getting paid (underpaid) at every school. The amateur rules are a joke, the ncaa is a sham and all of the “adults” are taking advantage and furthering the fraud.
