Sheldon Neuse will have his contract selected from Triple-A Las Vegas by the Athletics, Martin Gallegos of MLB.com reports.

Analysis:Neuse will join Oakland ahead of September's roster expansion since Khris Davis is gone the next few days on the paternity list. The 24-year-old has enjoyed a productive season with Las Vegas, posting a .317/.389/.550 slash line with 27 home runs and 102 RBI in 126 games. Neuse primarily plays third base, but he's also seen action at second base, shortstop and left field this season.

Jaylin Davis still hasn’t gotten show time. Imagine what he’s gonna do.

Do any of these guys even understand what analytics means or do they just shout whenever someone shows them numbers?

quote:

Now, he’s getting the last laugh, proving that despite the benefits clubs may derive from analytics, there are no algorithms to measure a player’s heart, fortitude and competitiveness.

Besides, if analytics were the end-all, be-all, then how come every contender blew the chance to grab him. Castellanos has his own spray charts showing those balls he was hitting into right-center-field would have been homers if his home games weren’t played at Comerica Park with the center-field 420 feet away.

Soooo...analytics?

quote:

“They have these analytics that come out of nowhere that are supposed to predict how players are going to do and what they are going to do before they do it,’’ Castellanos said. “They have WAR, but when I talk to people on the MLB Network and other places, and ask how they come up with it, they have no idea.’’

WAR isn't predictive.

From the July spray chart article linked in this story

quote:

"This park is a joke," Castellanos said, per the Detroit News. "It's to the point where how are we going to be compared to the rest of the people in the league in terms of power numbers, OPS, slugging and all that stuff when we got a yard out here that's 420 feet straight across center field?"

They have a stat for that. It's called wRC+. Out of qualified Corner OF bats, you were 16th. Behind Braun, Franmil, and Alex Gordon.

Idk Rondy

Some days I regret the reboot, some days I don’t.

It was tiring trading off all the studs I add via free agency for a quick upgrade

Walker Buehler
Bryan Reynolds
Jack Flaherty
Dustin May
Rhys Hoskins
Carter Kieboom
Gavin Lux
Drew Waters
Nolan Jones
Luis Patino
Mike Clevinger
Mike Minor

That’s just off the top of my head of FA pickups i added that I moved for a quick return. Want to build with my adds now, like The Punisher

and his parents are considering suing. I get it. It's a hard pill to swallow, but come on, your son has to be responsible for his actions.
