I don't like this one, because under that scenario, all an owner needs to do is roster 1 SP and 9 relievers and he will more than likely hit his IP requirement for the week.

If we are going to drop the six start requirement, I would also prefer that we make it a requirement to have at least 4 or 5 SP on your team at all times.

Gotta keep the starts requirement

Up the IP requirement by 5 IP with it

I don't think it's a problem the way it is but I do see the argument of it potentially becoming an issue in the future. I like the idea if it is dropped, IP limit should be increased a little bit.

Are there any teams out there that are looking to shed some RP from their roster? I'm in the market for some.

I don't think the Tampa model is a reason to frick with the rules.

There is no rule requiring 6 pitching starts - it's an either/or rule - 35 IP or 6 starts:

quote:

1. Each team must pitch a minimum of 35 IP OR have at least six starts per week.

I don't understand the proposal to eliminate 6 starts considering the existing rule.

If anything the TB scheme would necessitate more starts, however, why alter our rules because one MLB team employed this scheme this one season?

I'm in agreement with all that Willbo Baggins.

I think the concern is more teams do it and "starts" are cheapened.

I say if people want to roster guys that used to be nothing more than middle relief to get cheap "starts" then so be it.

The Nationals have acquired righty reliever Kyle Barraclough from the Marlins for international slot money. He’s 28, 3.21 ERA with an 11.48 K/9 in his career. Should provide middle relief stability

I'd be willing to take a chance on Bearclaw figuring it out again. Will RDR entertain moving him?
