Braves farm is like my farm in this league. Yeah, it’s good, but they ain’t all gonna be worth a frick. Some already have proven they aren’t worth a frick.

I don't understand how you're supposed to hit Jordan Hicks with this slider. This shite is spectacular.
ETA: and he adds 2 more strikeouts

So why the frick wasn't Venters given a Hold in yesterday's game?
Came in to a 2-1 lead with a runner on in the 5th inning, walked one batter, then got a ground out to end the inning, preserving a 2-1 lead.
I understand that it was a 'bullpen day' for the Rays and they took an early lead, so at the time, he theoretically could have been given the win, but they awarded the W to the pitcher before him, so shouldn't he get a hold?

Thought you could only get a hold if it occurred in the sixth inning or later.
Eta: hell it might even be seventh inning

That's nowhere in the definition... LINK
quote:
A hold occurs when a relief pitcher enters the game in a save situation and maintains his team's lead for the next relief pitcher, while recording at least one out. One of two conditions must be met for a pitcher to record a hold: 1) He enters with a lead of three runs or less and maintains that lead while recording at least one out. 2) He enters the game with the tying run on-deck, at the plate or on the bases, and records an out.
Nothing in the definition for save situation refers to a specific inning either.

Well the RP who pitched the 6th got a hold.

I’m glad you didn’t get the hold btw.
