I was referring more to his ridiculous plate discipline all of the sudden. OBP is faptastic.

He's always had a discerning eye. If he starts to make more contact and lays off the sliders, he'll be a good one.

If he figures this out, he needs to teach Altuve. Or at least remind Altuve that it's a good idea to not swing at pitches a foot outside and 6 inches below the zone.

Sounds like Bagwell taught him everything he knows.

Maybe so... dude is still hitting .320ish but looks lost at the plate. It's strange, really.

Well Altuve makes up for his aggressiveness by having elite hand eye coordination. Some guys can do that. I've seen future HOF guys chasing sliders all the time. Toughest pitch to stay off when it's executed. Some guys can pick up the spin. I couldn't.

ETA:

Split finger is tough also, but I think it's harder on an arm than even a slider and it's tougher to learn.

I once saw Vlad hit a ball 3 inches off the ground out of the park. It was like a 9 iron. Crazy.

Vlad did some amazing things. I always heard the story of him hitting a home run on a pitch that bounced... wonder if that one was true.

Yolmer Sanchez gatorade (or, water) bathed himself after Trayce Thompson hit a walkoff homer.

The best part is while he was doing it, Thompson hit him in the gut with his batting helmet.
