Odorizzi, Corbin, Duffy land opening day starts.

Brinson wins CF job, as expected.

Haven’t announced where he will bat. He’s been in just about every hole this spring, but leadoff seems to be the strong lean right now.

Velo was in the 80s, sounds like his shoulder is fricked. Didn’t realize he was starting

But it makes more sense for the Rays. After all, Bautista can at least DH in the American League. That option doesn’t exist in the National League. As for the Braves, they are already using Adrián González at first base. There’s no point in having both players on the same roster.

Oh really?

let's see here

quote:

Parker is likely to begin the year as the Angels' first option to close games, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.

Hicks is expected to serve as the Yankees' everyday center fielder this season, Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports. It's expected that Hicks will be regularly flanked by Brett Gardner in left field and Aaron Judge or Giancarlo Stanton in right field, with the other slugger moving to designated hitter in most games.

quote:

Thames will feature prominently for the Brewers this season despite losing starts at first base to Ryan Braun against left-handed pitchers, Tom Haudricourt of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports. Manager Craig Counsell said, "He's going to figure prominently into our offense for sure this year. I don't see Eric losing any playing time in this situation."

Kansas City Royals ace Danny Duffy threw some long toss on Sunday without issue, so he's currently on pace to pitch on Opening Day. Duffy suffered some tightness in his shoulder during his final spring start, so some concerns were swirling about whether the issue would continue into the regular season. He seems to have put those concerns to bed for now.
