Been in the mountains, but wanted to chime in on the previous discussions (which was good reading). Usual disclaimer - I'm as full of shite as anyone so don't take as gospel.
Godfather 1 and 2 are the shite. GF2 is better than GF1 IMO. I'm a huge DeNiro fan and that is my 2nd favorite roll he's ever played (behind Jimmy Conway in Goodfellas). Both GF movies probably don't appeal to many CGI loving movie goers, but I'm a big script guy and they both are classics.
The Sopranos is the best series of all time IMO. Must watch. It gets a little PC at times toward the end, but the characters are money. And James Galdofini is the most crucial casting of all time IMO.
I've never watched The Wire, but it sounds like I need to.
I've been told that the 1st season of True Detectives is the shite also. Need to watch that.
