From last night, when I saw #Phillies teenage RHP Sixto Sanchez for the first time. Some (gushing, sorry) thoughts to follow:
oh my, someone else is in love ...
-Sanchez lived up to the hype, firing 96-100 FBs due to premium arm strength. The kicker? Command—he could put the pitch wherever he wanted.
-Started using secondaries 2d time thru lineup. A few of his 80-82 downer CBs were special; others barely broke; ended high/armside. #Sanchez
-Got sw/miss on both CB and 88-90 CH—velo separation between these and FB gave hitters fits. Still needs offspeed consistency … but he’s 18.
