Is there some underlying peripherals that you see in Eickhoff's stats that says he doesn't suck or you just went on gut that he's young and at one point he didn't suck?

Well, Eickhoff's FIP indicates he should be better than he has been... and he's cut his HR rate from last season. Problem is his BB/9 has gone up a lot.

FWIW, there are no SPs on the waiver wire I would have dropped Eickhoff for, even with the DL stint. Maybe a few guys there that I would have preferred in a spot start based on a certain matchup, but no one I would prefer for the rest of the season.
I like Anderson though, his peripherals indicate this season so far isn't a fluke. I don't expect him to keep a sub-3 ERA but he should be a quality innings-eater.

Matt Moore just got scooped up. How the bad teams didn't want to take a wait and see on him is beyond me. I'd take him over Eickoff everyday of the week if we want to stash a project

I was prepared to pick him up on Sunday when Ramos came off DL and I was able to drop Flowers. I figured he would be gone by then though. I wasn't going to put myself in a situation where I purposely was starting a dude on the DL for an entire week.

Nah, Chatwood at least you can feel confident about when he's not at Coors.
It sucks that you're missing out on half his starts, but he's sporting a 2.41 ERA and .994 WHIP in his 8 road starts.
