wouldn't go that far but there is certainly an influx of backs you can count on to be in the 20 touch range most weeks, versatile guys that are involved in both the run and passing game.

You could but going contrarian then worked because the plodding 20 touch back was dying out and people were still forcing themselves to take RBs just because that’s what you were told to do. Fantasy is about consistency, so I’d like to be able to have guys I know are locked into guaranteed opportunity most weeks. WRs are more match up dependent and red zone opportunities largely random.
So passing on those guys for the sake of being contrarian isn’t the best of moves
