Doing an auction ppr league and having trouble on how I should draft

It's auction ppr on yahoo with everyone starting with $200.
passing and rush td's are 6 points. Also extra bonus points if someone reaches a certain yard amount. the Flex spot is W/R/TE.
I'm struggling to figure out if I should blow my wad on both David Johnson and Leveon Bell or if I should go a different route. After them there's really no runningbacks I feel comfortable with at all.

I'm pretty sure there are auction cheat sheets that show what % of your budget to spend on.

I'm in a ppr auction league w same budget. Considering blowing $130 on bell and Johnson. Whoever gets nominated first will probably go for 60, the second a little more. Then spend fewer dollars on some later WRs like decker and Cobb. I dunno. Could wrk. Could backfire.

I think the person who said don't spend over 60 on anyone is right. It's really tempting to get both, but I'd have to be scouring the waiver wire all year and if one of those 2 go down with an injury. It would be very tough to recover.

Let all the other people blow their money early, nominate players you want no part of and take advantage of the PPR. I've been in 3 PPR auction leagues and won all three of them. A lot of people don't know how to draft for either auction or PPR.
1. When it's your turn to nominate, pick someone you don't want anything to do with. Guys like Todd Gurley, DeMaryius Thomas, Jimmy Graham, DeSean Jackson. Sure they might put up numbers from time to time, but I wouldn't trust them and someone will bid on them. In the early rounds, I nominate someone I know will go for a ton of money just so someone blows something. As it progresses, I'll put up guys who play with terrible offenses or guys at positions I'm already stacked at.
2. Always grab WRs from the following teams, New England, Green Bay, New Orleans and just anyone who has a great QB. Most guys will want the big names and don't value the PPR aspect. For this reason, Julian Edelman is almost as solid as adding Antonio Brown or Odell Beckham. Go after other lesser known guys too, such as Willie Snead, Jarvis Landry, Cole Beasley, Davonte Adams, Doug Baldwin, and so on. I won my league last year starting Edelman, Adams, and Baldwin on almost a weekly basis. I spent nearly $30 on Edelman, but I got Adams and Baldwin for less than $20 combined.
3. At RB, just make sure you land guys who are used in the passing game. Christian McCaffery figures to be one of the bigger names for this reason but there's quite a couple backs who get a lot of checkdown work. Bell would still be #1 but I'd put Devonta Freeman as the 2nd best back in PPR, shite, I'd grab him and Coleman. Ty Montgomery is another solid name you will prob be able to add for cheap. CJ Prosise, Dion Lewis, Danny Woodhead, so on and so forth.
4. For QB, I'd actually put my money here, go out and grab one of the elites if you can. Tom Brady, Drew Brees, Matt Ryan, Aaron Rodgers, so on and so forth.
Finally, make sure you get the Patriots defense just because that's almost always a free 3 points for the W.

Your post had good advice overall, but come on.
David Johnson had almost double the receiving yards and almost 30 more catches than Freeman last year, and rushed for more yards and TDs, and all reports are that he's going to get just as big a workload this year...DJ is #1 or 2 in PPR.
Freeman is a distant 3rd at best.

While I certainly agree, I'm just very weary about Johnson. I know ACL injuries are almost a thing of the past now but he tore his in week 17 last year, on top of that, he's going to cost $60+ to land while Freeman can probably be gotten for $30+.

It wasn't an ACL tear it was an MCL sprain. Didn't even need surgery, so I think it's a non-issue. Bell has been a little more injury prone than DJ if anything.
And you're right about value, I don't generally play auction so I'm not saying someone should or shouldn't bid on him. If Freeman is half the price maybe he's a better deal, but DJ is far ahead of him all things being equal.

No way Freeman will be $30. $45 minimum in a $200 budget. Maybe higher depending on when he's nominated.
I won my auction league last year spending on a lot of third round type players, but I got lucky. If you can snag DJ and Bell or one of them plus McCoy, Gordon or freeman, you'd likely be in damn good shape and can fill out w late low $ WRs.
