I don't see what's so confusing about it either

I'd rather do a nonkeeper auction if it came down to it

ETA: we already voted on keeper/auction, think it would be kinda bush league to change now after people have paid

I'm telling you how I can see it becoming confusing. And Barry is stating from experience how it can be a cluster frick.

Isnt this your first fantasy football league ever??!

And you are arguing that drafts are complete bullshite. Lulz

No because you already are getting rewarded the first year if you get a guy who blows up. You shouldn't be rewarded again the following year.

everyone did vote for keeper and auction.

2 keepers at the value you got them in the last draft. how long can you keep someone? no longer than 2 years or can you just sit on a ray rice at 5 bucks forevuh

How? U keep them for what u pay for them this year. whenever the keeper deadline is everyone posts there keepers and what they paid (yahoo should list this similar to how they list draft results). Once the auction starts next year u put ur 2 keepers up for bid for what u paid this ur, nobody bids on them, and u get em. After all the keepers are done we move on to the rest

its just tough to do it any other way with auction.

there needs to be a limit on how many years u can keep them at that price

How about 2 keepers and it doesn't effect your points at all and we just give more points for non playoff teams.

This eliminates people tanking because all the non playoff teams get extra points.

99% of football leagues there is a cost for keeping. There is inflation costing you that rounds pick or the round earlier..Auction keeper makes it hard to keep balance in league.

I.e..this year Rice and Greene would costs $5 to keep. Others will be keeping players that costs $50-75...having $125 to fill a roster is a complete disadvantage to someone with $190

Agreed, some leagues do this by making u add $10 to a players salary to keep them. If u keep them 2 year, then u essentially add $20 to what I originally bid on them, etc

And there's no way ray rice goes for $5, ever, bad example. Better example would be Miles Austin, who probably was a waiver wire guy. This is definitely the exception not the rule

This league is going to more fun to watch than actually playing. Already in cat fight and haven't drafted yet

This is a little more complicated but it works. ALL keepers are restricted free agents. The next year we bid on keepers first, after bidding has ended the original owner can match his price(or increase by a %, whatever) or give him up.

example: Last year im sure Jamaal was cheap or a free agent pick up.

This year you bid for him, say the bid ends at 42 points. you add your 10% premium and you can keep him at 46 points or let him go.

keeping rice or greene for $5

If that happens I'd say good for u for finding the sleeper, did rice really go for $5 last year?
