Keep 2 people for whatever u paid for them n the previous years draft
Or we can add $10 to each players salary to encourage drafting younger and discourage keeping the same player for > 2or 3 years

Nah, that gives people to big of an advantage for players they got on the cheap.

Are you going to keep track and police this Honkus?
Just like baseball, yahoo is not set-up for keeper leagues. FYI

Then how do u account for keepers next year? They gotta be on the books for some dollar amount
Sure Toula shouldn't be too hard to keep up w/

All the rules needed to be voted and decided upon before the draft, IMO
Pay-out
Bottom-feeder
Playoffs
Roster size
starting positions
ETC

agree on voting on this all. honk, maybe start a new thread with all the options for each issue and keep a tab on votes.
I hate the keeping for what you paid in last years draft.

We already pretty much voted for roster size/starting positions
Rest of my votes:
Payout 1st: 225 2nd: 75
Bottom feeder pays 3rd place payout of 25
Playoffs: 6 teams, top 2 get BYE, playoffs run weeks 14, 15, & week 16 is the super bowl. Who will Blue Waffles be playing?

I dunno frat, u still gotta pay for the player next year, u shouldn't be able to keep them for free IMO
Posted on 8/5/10 at 2:25 pm to Honkus
yeah I guess that's true. We could just make it to where everyone keeps the 2 players for 25 each. it would be even for everyone. Everyone then starts with 150. Not sure if that would work.
I guess I'm not used to doing auction.

But thats not fair to the people who don't get one of the big names. That way whoever gets Chris Johnson @ $80 has a huge advantage over whoever missed out on the big guys and had to settle for someone for 40
Also I like doing it that way bc it encourages drafting younger guys/looking for sleepers, and forces u to give more thought to who u keep next year. As n I could keep AP for $75, or I can keep Ryan Matthews for 40. makes u have to consider who u keep instead of just ur best 2 players

Well its an auction draft so if you want a big name, get him. Everyone has a shot at every player.

I understand what you are saying, and i guess thats the only way to make it work in auction leagues. I just think its crap when, for example, someone can keep ray rice for 5 bucks

I vote no keeper..just in case this auction experiment doesn't go well.
Posted on 8/5/10 at 3:05 pm to fratmonster
I say keep them for the price you paid for them.
I'm cool with 225 for 1st and 75 for 2nd. Don't know how I feel about last place paying 25 dollars for 3rd.

last place never pays. we might as well not even try to make it happen.

I'm in a keeper auction and its a cluster frick. This may be the best option. In fact if we want this league a keeper we might as well just do a draft and save our sevles some head aches. Take it from personal experience.

I really dont care what we do, I am the new guy so I will just add my input only so I dont get screwed in the end.

That's what I'm thinking to Barry. Either a keeper draft or nonkeeper auction. The semantics just seem confusing and difficult.
And the next years draft order should be random. No reverse order. We've already seen teams in the baseball league be willing to tank it for a better draft pick.
