Still need 5 people to vote, gents

Also, someone explain to me the reasoning of wanting the draft order to change after RD 1. I’ve never heard of this in any format but willing to be swayed. Pretend I didn’t win the lottery

The NBA lottery only applies to round 1, I believe

It’s the way it is in nba.

Reset after round 1.

Lottery is in place to discourage tanking. But bad teams are still bad teams. The rest of the draft should absolutely reset.

Once this vote is decided, we need to vote on playoff teams draft slots. Frat picks 14th didn’t win the league? I never understood the reasoning for this. You can win the league and pick 8th in the draft. How is that fair?

Sorry, I meant fantasy Dally

The basketball and baseball dynasty leagues on here use lottery for all rounds

It’s not apples to apples I’m just trying to understand

I'm sure the thinking here is that regular season record is a better indicator of team strength than a 3 week playoff

I don't feel strongly about it either way

I don’t care either way but you don’t think regular season champion has the best team? Idk I’ve always been of the opinion that regular season champ usually has best team. And before you ask why they don’t win the pot, I think they should but that ruins the h2h aspect everyone loves

I'm probably not a good person to ask. I think draft lotteries are stupid to begin with, in both real and fantasy sports

They are a nevsssry evil to prevent outright tanking in these leagues

I think peazey had the right idea of moving the % of balls around to increase a bad team’s chances and decreasing the fringe playoff team’s chances

But how is that fair? Ask frat if he’d swap with the playoff champion from a year ago.

Why are we trying to reinvent the wheel? The nfl, nba, mlb all go by playoff champion as last pick.

I don’t think it’s not fair but like I said, I’m fine ether way

There is no reinventing any wheel wisey, no format we use in these leagues directly mimics X league. That’s why we are talking and want to use the best format possible

My only fear is a reactionary change after 1 season. Which is fine is we believe it’s necessary.

Frat went 10-3 in a top/bottom format and finished at the top. Under this format, he was unequivocally the top dawg in this league

FC wins the league at 8-5 as a fringe playoff squad. Goes on a heater at the right time

Do you want to measure actually roster strength when considering draft order, or playoff hot streak?

I don’t think there is a right or wrong here. But sometimes the best team (frat) will win it all. Sometimes they won’t. Just like sometimes the worst team will win the lottery, sometimes it wont.

And FC, i got your PayPal bubba

ETA - we can vote on this after the lottery thing, just putting thoughts on paper

He won the league

Then gets rewarded even more with a higher draft pick. You win the league, you pick last. That’s my view.

At its core, the lottery and draft order are designed to give the teams with weaker rosters a chance to improve their rosters before the teams with better rosters. Yes? The talent of a roster is best represented by regular season finish

Now I’m not gonna die on this mountain but frat roster > FC roster. I don’t believe it’s debatable, and if we want to give weaker teams a better chance, it’s best reflected off reg season finish. This is built in with the number of lottery balls and an inverse of the standings

Anyway, I’d like to vote on % of balls in the lottery and this draft order thing after we finish the lottery vote
