It’s hsrd to compete when you have injuries and no one to pick up that could even give you 3pts

shite, thought it was 1 pm.

Came close to a deadline deal.

ESPN needs a chat widget like Fantrax. FSBDL is popping on trade deadline day.

Now that this has happened I guess the question is when do trades open back up. After the season ends or after the real draft I guess? Also wondering when the draft lottery is determined. These are the things I have to look forward to.

I wouldn't be opposed to not having a trade deadline in future seasons, FWIW

i kind of like the idea of having to ride with the team you have at a certain point in the season. Not hung up on it though

We can open trading back up as soon as the season ends.

I don't have a firm opinion on it. I would be open to hearing arguments either way. But something just wouldn't feel right if a team sold out for trades for the week of the championship game for instance. Just feels like it could be kind of sketchy.

And are we talking regular season for trades to open back up or after the Super Bowl? Super Bowl seems better imo.

Right. And I'm giving my opinion on no trade deadline and asking if you meant end of regular season or after super bowl by "after the season is over."

are you getting a tone w/ me bubba

you think we will impose a trade deadline and then open trades back up in the playoffs?

yes, after the super bowl

No tone. I just thought it was a little ambiguous, and I don't like making assumptions. After the season could conceivably mean at least a few different things. Practically after the "fantasy season" ends any moves that could be made don't have any effect on outcomes, and the function of a trade deadline has run its course. But leaving a little break does make the most sense to me.

This happened in my Dynasty League last season. We thought it would be a good idea to allow trading throughout the season so that competing teams would buy assets to the benefit of rebuilding teams. Unfortunately, it was a huge arms race of acquiring talent and it was a complete mess.

We instituted a week 12 (Saturday of) deadline. Free Agency is open to all managers throughout the playoffs, though. It wouldn't be fair to stop non-playoff teams from making free agency moves that could benefit them for the future.

right

this is standard operating procedure for all dynasty and i think it's our best course of action.
