Best matchup tie breakers

Quick background - in my main league, for years we did matchup tiebreaker went to most bench points, then we decided that was dumb so we just don't break ties. A tie is just a tie and counts essentially as half a win and half a loss.
This led to a year with a surprising number of ties (something like 5 ties) and one team tying twice. This caused us to add decimal scoring, which we hadn't done before.
With decimal scoring, tying is extremely rare, I think it's happened once in the 5ish years that we've done it.
However, we never decided a solution to playoff tiebreaks. So far, it hasn't been an issue and we've essentially just ignored it and hoped it doesn't happen. But that's obviously not a solution.
What does the board think is the best way to break ties in the playoffs?
Some solutions we're considering:
-Higher seed wins
-Team with most regular season points wins
-Subtract kicker points, and the team with the most points wins
-Highest scoring bench wins(I hate this tiebreak even though it's common)

If you have QB yardage at 1 pt/25 yards you could go in and break the tie by eliminating the rounding “error”

That's an interesting idea too.

That's what we use. In the rare event of a playoff tie (we've never had one through 7 years), the tiebreaker is who had the better regular season.

Can't agree more - never understood rewarding somebody for having guys go off while on their bench. I think a better solution is least bench points or best optimization of available points.

Highest total points for the season moves on.

Bench points are indeed really stupid. Years ago, to give myself every possible advantage in the finals, I dropped the handcuffs on my bench and picked up mediocre QBs, just to pad my bench point total. Needing to do that was absurd.
As for tiebreaks, I like the QB yardage trick for leagues that have gap scoring (wouldn’t work in any that break it down to the yard). I also like season total points.
