A blast from the past -- Coleman -- who birthed his career with Kyle Shanahan during his tenure as Falcons offensive coordinator -- may be back in a big role in Week 13. The 49ers are banged up at running back after losing Elijah Mitchell to what's likely a season-ending injury and with Christian McCaffrey dealing with knee tendinitis. While McCaffrey is still expected to play, The Athletic's Matt Barrows believes Coleman could play a big role in the 49ers backfield with Mitchell out. "Never underestimate Shanahan's fondness for veteran Tevin Coleman" is how Barrows described it and he could easily be elevated from the practice squad for this game. If McCaffrey is limited, would you expect Shanahan to trust a veteran like Coleman who has been in his system, knows all the calls, etc or someone like Jordan Mason or rookie Tyrion Davis-Price? I'm leaning Coleman.
I'm not in the market, but thought it might interest some Mitchell owners.
