Why not?

I know we’ve always done lottery for bottom 3, but why not do it for all non-playoff teams? Might decrease teams outright tanking.

Because the season is over.

Injuries span across two seasons.

Yes they can. Players are rolled over on to the active list during the off season across all sports. It’s not something new.

If they’re on the IR to end the season and to start why should they come off it during the off season? I don’t care if we even have an IR but if we do there should be one in the offseason, it’s a dynasty league.

Because once again, there is no injured list during the off season. There is no off season injured list in baseball, basketball, or football. Now if you want to make up a new rule, we can.

There is no injured list for basketball during the regular season

I just saw the updates. I'm going to assemble my roster tomorrow

I’m not, there is an actual IR in football and baseball so it’s easy to just follow that. That’s why I’m not sure we should have even have one but if we do I don’t see why guys with season ending injuries can’t be on there during the offseason.

I just dropped a player to keep Warren (who was on the IR)

Flordia, I understand where you are coming from. My issue with the players on IR "right now" is that some can put players on IR while others cant.
I am one of those that can put Siakim and Coby White on IR, but I will give up holding them there to be consistent with everyone.
Also, I think we did IR REALLY due to Covid. We had no clue what the season was going to look like last year.

Well if you can only add 20
Players to each roster, and ESPN won’t allow players to be moved to IR right now, then there is no way to carry over more than 20
Right

I agree. It was necessary for a covid year and maybe this year coming up.
My issue with basketball IR is you’re relying on the teams to accurately report their injuries with no injured list. Some guys are declared out for one game and are IR eligible, then you have a team that rules a guy out at game time for 2 weeks that isn’t eligible.

Yes, I think we revisit this topic for next year.
But really, is Covid ever going to end?
