According to FOX Sports' Ken Rosenthal, the Nationals are close to reaching a long-term contract extension with Ryan Zimmerman but some "deal-breakers" remain. Rosenthal says the deal would be for "at least six years." Zimmerman has informed the Nationals that he wants contract talks to cease after Saturday so that he can focus on getting ready for the start of the 2012 season. The two sides have only a couple of days to get over whatever roadblocks remain. Zimmerman is scheduled to become a free agent after the 2013 season.
