News: Marlins OF Mike Stanton finally made his Grapefruit League debut Thursday after finally overcoming a quadriceps injury, and it looked like he never missed a beat. Stanton went 3 for 4 with a pair of three-run home runs and an RBI single against the Red Sox. "You've got to expect the most," Stanton said of his spring debut. "If you're going to surprise yourself too often, you don't have enough confidence in yourself. It was definitely cool to be able to do that in my first game back." He said it felt like two months and not three weeks, but was glad to be back out there on the field. "As advertised, he had the power," manager Edwin Rodriguez told MLB.com. "Not only that, then you're going to see a better Hanley Ramirez, Gaby Sanchez through the lineup. Just his presence, the whole game changed. It's good to have that sense that with one swing, you can get back into the game."

Analysis: The Marlins were very careful to make sure Stanton wasn't brought along too quickly following his injury back on Feb. 27, and it looks like their plan of action worked to a tee. They know what a gem they have in this monster of a guy, and it wouldn't be a shock to anyone if he continued to hit like this once the season gets going. While Stanton's hype is causing him to be taken a little too early in mixed Fantasy leagues, he's certainly worth taking as a No. 3 Fantasy OF in all those formats.

News: Mets closer Francisco Rodriguez continued his dominant pitching this spring in Thursday's game against the Cardinals. The right-hander threw one scoreless inning of work, allowing one hit while striking out one. He has yet to allow an earned run in eight outings this spring, and has struck out nine in 8 2/3 innings.
