seriously will, do you really see any manager with a brain pitching to howard with a bunch of average to plus average players around him in the lineup?
pitch to Howard or Ben Francisco? have to think about that one
Howards RBI #s are so high because he was in a great lineup and that offered him protection so pitchers had to pitch to a bad pitch selection guy. Now with all the set up men and protection hurt (utley), gone (werth), old/declining (rollins) as well as his own passing from the peak years it is more likely than not that Howard declines further this year. Not a given, fact but a more likely statistical outcome based on what we know.

btw ibanez is still there. he showed a lot of life in the 2nd half last year.
no telling what he will show up with this season. smart money says a nice dive from last season. dom brown being on target would have been huge for howard.

is pujols going to fall off too? hes 31
Pujols doesn't have any gaping holes in his game like Howard, but, yes, Pujols will fall off, but he has so much further to fall that you can ride him like ARod into his middle 30s. I just don't see a whiffer like Howard being able to do that.

Best staff in da league big port.

he hit 309/375/494 9 HR 44 RBI in the 2nd half. that an 870 ops
and ryan howard was on pace for 35 HR and 130 RBI before he got hurt last year fyi

using ibanez as a discussion point is laughable at this point in time
you're on record for 40 homeruns for Howard. for your sake, i hope you're right.
i'll still take Tex with Cano and ARod around him

somewhere between 37-40. We shall see.
I dont know where his age comes into it though.
31 is not old. Howard isnt losing his power anytime soon
the protection is a legitimate concern. But i still think he gets it done. If it gets bad they will add a bat, take that to bank. They didnt put this staff together to "chance" it. Halladay and Oswalt have a window. Same with a few of the hitters.
