Francisco Liriano - S - Twins Francisco Liriano threw his first bullpen session of the spring Tuesday in Twins camp.
Liriano had been limited by tightness in his left shoulder. He looked good on the mound Tuesday, according to ESPN 1500 AM's Phil Mackey, and he should be able to catch up with the other starters in spring camp by the second week of the Grapefruit League schedule. The southpaw posted a superb 3.62 ERA last year with 201 strikeouts in 192 innings.

Dodgers manager Don Mattingly has already named SP Clayton Kershaw as the opening day starter for this season and said on Thursday that the left-hander "has the ability to be special." In the 22-year-old Kershaw, Mattingly sees a young pitcher with an innate will to learn and win. "This kid loves a challenge," Mattingly said. "He won't back down from anybody. You can see him improve from day to day to day." Kershaw, a 2006 first-round draft pick, is poised to become the youngest Dodger to start opening day since a 22-year-old Fernando Valenzuela did it in 1983.

superb- brilliant: of surpassing excellence
Low 3s would be a superb ERA in the AL.
IE guys like CC, Verlander, Price, Lester, Cahill, Gonzalez, posted low 3s.
Then you have guys like Liriano, Garza, Ervin Santanna, Carmona, Danks, Vargas, Guthrie, Romero etc in the high 3s.
Nothing I would call superb.

He had a 115 ERA+... don't know about "superb" but that's pretty solid.
