FWIW, this is why I put the proposed amendments out here early. To discuss them and make changes BEFORE they are voted on.

Webb-to-Rangers deal confirmed
Brandon Webb, SP ARI
News: The Rangers confirmed Sunday that they have a one-year deal in place with RHP Brandon Webb, according to MLB.com, but the deal is still pending a physical. The two sides initially came to terms Dec. 26.
Analysis: Webb hasn't pitched in a major-league game since the 2009 season opener because of shoulder surgery. The recovery process has been a slow one, requiring him to reconstruct his delivery midway through last season. Pitchers have historically had a difficult time bouncing back from shoulder surgery, so you shouldn't expect Webb to regain his ace form even if he's able to return in 2011. His track record gives him obvious sleeper appeal, but he's not necessarily a must-own in standard mixed leagues

You should go work in Washington with that spin doctoring ability.

there are too many rounds to do a standard draft.
the bastard who has the 16th pick is going to be fricked, picking that late in every round.
no, there isnt a snake draft in the NBA or NFL. But there are 2 and 7 rounds respectively, which a shite load of prospects to choose from. Same for baseball.
What we have here is a limited amount of impact players in a draft pool(since nearly 200 are being kept already), with 16 teams choosing between them. Snake draft would uphold the competitive balance in this league moreso than a standard draft.

Not sure what you are trying to say here. Baseball has like 50 rounds.

Again, this makes no sense. If you have the 16th pick in the draft, your picks would only be 15 picks apart every time, instead of 31 half of the time.

and thousands of amateur players to chose from.

"half the time" is the key word.
you have to relate it to the type of draft you are doing. If you are 16 in a standard draft, you are picking last EVERY time in that format. That just isnt fair with the type of league we have. Seems like a punishment.
And its not even so much the guy with the 16th pick as it is with the 1st pick getting the #1 spot every round.

I don't even know what to say.

I really wish he would have just said "I hate change and just wanna keep things the way they are." It would have saved me a near-aneurysm.
I guarantee LE still uses a rotary phone, btw.

truthfully, either approach isnt that far off from the other, but i dont see people want to mirror pro sport leagues in a fantasy league, its just not the same.
i like parity, but im a bigger fan of equality. Shitty teams shouldnt be rewarded over and over and over for being shitty.

Maybe the reason they stay shitty is because they only get one draft pick in the first 30 picks.

i like the other 2 proposals.
and im a forward thinker, i like change and accept it when relevant, but i dont think the way we draft should be changed.
and i have an iphone 4 btw

What would be your opinion of the lottery style draft if only non-playoff teams were in the lottery, and if it remained a snake draft? Just curious.

it all equals out in the end my friend
from a 16th spot perspective, id rather the back to back sandwich picks than a pick every 15 picks.

the shitty guys dont have a chance because they dont know what they are doing. Not because of the way the draft is
