I guess I meant shitty owners

Kind of unfair to lump him in there, although his value of Trout raises red flags.

From most of the forums I am reading, people are saying that in keeper leagues as deep as this one (192 players kept), it makes more sense to do a standard draft.

These aren't experts though.

last I heard Trout was the 2010 Minor League POY.. looking at a September call-up (if not before).

What am I missing here?

If a team's keepers significantly affect its ability to win consistently, then you should do a straight draft. If the keepers are limited (I would say maybe 4 or fewer) you should do a snake draft.

Actually, just read this thread. It's short, but good points are made.

I couldn't agree more, you should do a snake for the first draft that starts your keeper then straight draft it the following years. The bad teams need to have the chance to get better, to those saying it's not fair to pick last that is called the spoils of victory. Would you rather pick first and suck or win titles and have to continue your skill with a handicap to repeat? I've picked last or a pick away from it all 4 years with my team and it's loaded. If you draft well in the minors and the regular draft your slot won't matter. Just step your game up and give the weaker teams a chance. I rather win knowing I constructed a team with great decision making and drafting then being overly greedy trying to stock pile when I see other teams clearly need the shot in the arm

If you're benchmark is 2013, I think you did well by grabbing Trout. With Mike Scioscia as his manager he'll be a huge SB and Runs guy. Think Ellsbury with a better average.

Que the Earl and youngsters diatribe in 3, 2, 1....

Does anyone know when fantasy sites (ESPN, CBS, etc) start releasing projections? I see a bunch of rankings, but no stat projections yet.

Now that I'm in the slow season at work, it's about time to focus on my ranking system again.
