I heard this on the radio this morning of an author in Cali blaming racism on the election and how the vote was white America shrugging off the burden of having been under a black president. These are some of the most racist fricks I've ever seen.

LOCKE: And so the incredible optimism I felt on the other side of Obama is dashed, that this really is a sense that this is a backlash to that. That there is a large segment of the population for whom having a black president was such an assault on their identity. That their reaction to it has no reason. It makes no logical sense.
GREENE: You really see this as a lot of Americans saying we weren't ready for a black president, did not want a black president? What exactly are you saying?
LOCKE: I think of it through the level of the psyche, I think in the sense that we are still in a patriarchy. Goodness gracious, didn't we see that yesterday? In the sense that the president is, like, the - a father of the nation or a man that we're meant to look up to. I think there's a large segment of white folks who could not take that, the idea that this person was above them in some way. I think it was very dislocating in terms of their sense of identity.

I REALLY hope they convince themselves of this and continue to ignore the multitude of other motivations behind voting. Otherwise they would be a threat in the future.

Well, they're right. That racist TPOS, obama, has been nothing BUT a burden on America. We finally get that burden off our backs. It's actually a VERY awesome feeling to have America back. It feels like a dark cloud has been blown away and the rays of sunshine are again upon us.
Thank God!

As a HUGE NPR fan and conservative, do what I did and do yourself a favor and turn it off for at least the next month. It has been off in my car and home for the last 3 months and I have regained a bit of my sanity and composure.

Might be a good idea. I do like their news coverage (and Wait Wait don't Tell Me), especially Marketplace, but it's been pretty bad lately.

Didn't Obama get more white votes than the white woman?

How do I know Locke thinks he's smarter than he really is?

White America welcomed a black Presidenf. We wanted him to be the great healer. Instead he was the agitator in chief.

I love NPR's format.
I abhor their bias. It's intolerable at times.

They really should have looked back to how she couldn't beat a black man for President last go round. By logic (by the numbers) the steps might have gone a woman then a black man for President. That she couldn't beat a relative new comer of minority persuasion should have been enough for these guys to ever seriously back her with dollars and sense.
