Rumor going around that we shouldn't vote on election machines because Soros is tampering with election machines so we need to ask for a paper ballot. Anyone Requesting a paper ballot in lieu of the machine in Louisiana?

Good luck. You won't get one.

And stop listening to weirdos.

Trump isn't losing Louisiana. If you were in a meaningful state it may be different.

The Louisiana voting machines are not connected to the internet or to any computer.

The votes are read by opening the back of the machine and someone reads the display and then phones in the tally to the Sec of State.

There is no way to hack into the machines because they are just 'dumb' terminals.

It's not advice. I called the East Baton Rouge Parish Clerk of Court a while back and asked about the security of the machines and if they are connected to the internet or to the Sec of State's office by phone line.

I posted above what I was told.

Just because my screen name has "Russian" in it doesn't make me Russian any more than you are a home.

All of that was correct except for the phoning in of the results. They have to physically be delivered.

But it is nice to know that Louisiana is one of the safest states to vote in because our lack of money makes it harder for us to get newer technology

Eventually, yes, but only to make the tally "official."

The results are phoned in to the Sec of State's office as soon as the machines are opened in order to report the results faster. Those numbers are "unofficial" results.

There is no way, for example, Caddo Parish's results get reported within a few minutes after the polls close if the results have to be hand delivered to Baton Rouge before they can be reported.

Absolutely not. Those are the same machines I voted on for Bush. They work fine.

You are right. However the calling in of votes doesn't happen anywhere near the machines. The results are driven to the local clerk of court then eventually called in. Just to clarify, nobody with access to the machines calls in the vote tally. Too much room for error.

well then they are retarded, which isn't surprising b/c 95% of the people that work for the SOS has no clue how that process works b/c only a handful work in the election department.

The votes are stored on a data card. Those cards are turned in to the parish registrar's office once the polls are closed, where they are then uploaded to the state's official count. The machine does print out the vote tally as well, which they use to match the cards tally.

Yeah the machines aren't connected to the internet, but the process of uploading the count is, although they already know the vote tally before they upload it, and they do call it in, so when the SOS office sees that parish upload their count, they know what it should be.

I'll say it again as I did in other threads. There is no way of cheating in Louisiana, and we are one of if not the best state when it comes to being the least corrupt when it comes to election day voting.
