I think he'd kick arse as a FEMA director
I was joking when I suggested earlier he would get a cabinet position, but this is interesting.
Isn't Fugate a Republican? I'd rather just keep him if that's an option.

Throwing this out there- the public-private merger was utterly brilliant and is a long-term plus for the state. Somewhere between Our Lady of the Lake and the Capitol, something got funny. The contract they landed was just utterly stupid with BRG taking an enormous hit because of it. But for every other public-private merger that happened, the state came out a winner with no real loser.
If you want to say there's something corrupt between leadership at The Lake and LA Government, I'll buy it. But please share another example of a negative of the merger in any of the other formerly state run hospitals- I genuinely think they worked out for the better.
In today's everyone should get insurance or medicaid model, it makes no sense to have state run charity hospitals. In the end, this will be the correct decision to make, even if some of the details got messed up.

Outside of Baton Rouge, please explain where there were problems and how.
None.
And the problem with BR is very easy to figure out.
EKL had to go. But when the BR General closed their ER, all hell broke loose. Your major trauma center is located miles and miles away from the place you have most traumas. The Lake is not centrally located. And if BR was a smaller city or had better traffic patterns, it might have been ok.
It's easy to say that BR General should have been the choice and not the Lake, but I don't know if it is big enough or could expand enough to make it work.

Consider who Hillary had in her inner circle. The names Al Sharpton & Loretta Lynch ring a bell? Huma?
Hillary wasn't elected, so... Not sure what you're driving at. This discussion is about Trump and his cabinet.

Jindal WAS good. Jindal HAD potential. Jindal IS smart. It all went downhill after that State of the Union rebuttal. Everything he did after that was just a ruse

The Charity model was antiquated, no argument there. However, the replacement model was another victim of Jindal platitudes without sweating the details. Perhaps it's not as bad as the gold ethics standard, but it will require many fixes and there's a lot of hidden costs buried in it. He always shorted on projected costs or utilization rates to kick the can on budgeting. As for funny deals with contracts, Jindal likes his friends and confidants.

Can we point out Jindal was head of DHH at 24. That blows my mind.

There is no building in Washington with the capacity to hold both Jindal and Trump's ego!!
