Charter Schools started as a good idea to cut red tape, get away from unions/ tenure laws, offer competition, and give parents choice. Now about 75% of them are scams. Look at how many political spouses and cronies are involved with charters both Republican and Dem.

Unfortunately "school choice" has turned into a way to send money down a black hole into crony's pocketbooks. These private organizations hire relatives and campaign workers in exchange for taking over schools and getting all that money but there's almost zero accountability for how they spend it. They are immune to most cronyism laws.
